Okan YILMAZ
He was born in Turkey in 1967. He is a Mechanical Engineer. He is married and has two children.
His interest in visual arts started with painting in school years. While taking a break from painting during his university years, he turned to photography. During this period, he started taking photographs to create an archive for future pictures. However, under student conditions, this was never turned into a remarkable archive.
With the possibilities offered by digital technologies in the field of photography, it was started to be an active interest area for him. This trend turned into a passion over time. He has been taking photos intensely since 2002. He enjoys revealing the relationship between people and space in his photographs. In the subject, he likes compositions made with his heroes, nose to nose.
He graduated from AÖF Photography and Videography as the second university. He served as the Founding Chairman of the Board of Kütahya Evliya Çelebi Photography Association (EÇFOD). He is still a member of Eskişehir Photography Art Association (EFSAD). He participated in many mixed exhibitions & presented photo shows. He received awards and acceptances in national and international competitions. His work has been published in magazines and books. He has three solo exhibitions, “Stone is Heavy in its Place”, “Remaining to Me” and “My heart belongs to Kutahya”
It has the title of AFIAP. He currently publishes training videos on photography on YouTube.com/mebirok and shares his work through his social media accounts.
